About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and coordinates the care of patients, families, and significant others in the ambulatory care setting. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, planning, and intervening in actual or potential health problems, including the evaluation of the patient's response to care. This is a full-time position. Requirements

  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nursing license.
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
  • Current Infection Control Certificate.
  • Current Child Abuse Certificate.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with telephone triage and diagnosis procedures.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in nursing, including assessing patients.
  • Must be proficient in using computer applications and the internet.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medications.
  • Must be able to multitask successfully.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong telephone communication skills demonstrating empathy, respect, and the ability to use open-ended questions.
  • Must have the ability to make critical independent decisions and prioritize appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience in an Ambulatory, Medical Surgery, or ER setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and intervene in actual or potential health problems for patients in the ambulatory care setting.
  • Coordinate care for patients, families, and significant others, evaluating their response to treatments and interventions.
  • Perform telephone triage, utilizing clinical knowledge and communication skills to assess patient needs and direct them to the appropriate level of care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using computer systems.
