About The Position

EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center, part of the La Frontera family, is an industry leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing valued community services and resources for behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention since 1987. We are an EEO/AA Employer. The Registered Nurse provides nursing services to all clients. They will be primarily assigned to a specific clinic but may need to cover other clinics as needed. They will receive an assigned caseload and will be required to be available for their assigned clients as needed. Registered Nurses will provide services that include engagement, assessment, treatment planning, medication administration, education and supportive care.

Requirements

Associates Degree Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
Licensed by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a Registered Professional Nurse.
One year of experience in Behavioral Health; community based experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience working with the Maricopa County Regional Behavioral Health Authority.
Adequate computer skills preferred, as as Outlook, Word and Next Gen (EHR).
Must be eligible to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card or have a valid card.
Must be at least 21 years of age at time of employment.

Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provides education to the clients regarding disease states, medications, and treatments
Administers medications, particularly long-acting injectable antipsychotics.
Observes patients for side effects and reports these to the provider.
Documents all activities in the clinical record according to policy using approved forms
Responsible for tracking and following up on client’s injection schedules and laboratory results to ensure the highest quality of care possible.
Participates in utilization management and quality improvement activities as required.
Help to ensure that consumers receive medications from the pharmacy in a timely manner.
Obtains blood and urine specimens from patients as ordered by the provider.
Maintains the lab by making sure it is clean, sanitized, and in organized manner.
Assist with completing prior authorization request for medications.
Coordinates care with the patient’s primary care provider and other medical health providers to provide integrated healthcare services.
Educates the nonclinical staff regarding medication, resources, and other therapies.
Attend meetings, trainings, and agency activities/events outside of regularly scheduled work hours upon request.
