About The Position

Join the dedicated Telemetry team at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee as a Telemetry Nurse. This full-time night position involves caring for a diverse patient population with a focus on cardiac monitoring and stroke recovery. Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred
  • Ventilator Management experience preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry readings
  • Perform routine RN duties including assessments, bedside dialysis, and medication administration
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and improve outcomes
  • Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice
  • Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit
  • Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients
  • Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology
  • Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment
