Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • License Registered Nurse required.
  • American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certification
  • 1-3 years related work experience required.
  • Basic familiarity with computers.
  • Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise

Responsibilities

  • Provide Direct, Patient‑Centered Care Deliver safe, effective, and timely nursing care using sound clinical judgment.
  • Assess the healthcare needs of individuals or groups and create personalized care plans.
  • Integrate clinical knowledge with hands‑on experience to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate Care & Support the Care Team Oversee and guide assistive personnel to ensure coordinated, equitable, and efficient care delivery.
  • Identify and leverage resources needed to implement patient care plans.
  • Recognize how environmental and social factors influence patient and family health needs.
  • Collaborate & Communicate Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to determine care needs and goals.
  • Build trusting, respectful relationships with patients and families.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in all interactions.
  • Serve as a strong patient advocate.
  • Grow Professionally Maintain all annual mandatory education, including emergency skills and unit‑specific competencies.
  • Partner with educators or clinical nurse specialists to identify ongoing learning needs.
  • Participate in professional development and may contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate Organizational Commitment Uphold the mission and values of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in all aspects of care.
