The Registered Nurse is a leadership within the Community Residence partnering with the Residential Program Manager, Senior Counselors, Social Worker, Case Manager and Recreational Specialist. As a collective, the co-leadership team is responsible for the oversight of the health, wellness, and care of youth in the program. Knowledge of childhood trauma and the impacts is paramount. Knowledge of standard nursing care, protocols, health and physical safety, documentation, etc. is also required. The ability to forge positive relationships with youth and staff, internal and external customers at all levels, is crucial to success in this position. The Registered Nurse works closely with the co-leadership team and program staff in the design and facilitation of the program milieu and service delivery system, quality assurance measurements and agency goals. Assesses, treats, cares for, follows-up on and provides documentation for the healthcare needs of youth in care within the scope of practice for a registered nurse in the state of New York.
