About The Position

This is a Full Time Position in Infusion Compensation Range: $33.58 to $50.38 -hourly/paid bi-weekly Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life, Retirement, Paid Time Off Position Classification: Non-Exempt ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Supervisory-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities: N/A Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities: Infusion-based IV and oral therapy, including chemotherapy. Monitors patients receiving IV infusions, including pre-infusion triage. Recognizes and addresses patients’ psychological and physical needs. Reviews patient labs for appropriateness of therapy. Ability to perform full patient assessment along with proper documentation. Demonstrates ability to start IVs, access ports, and maintain central lines within scop of practice. Ability to assess every patient for potential reactions and side effects of infusions. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency and routine equipment and procedures. Uses complete discretion when discussing patient information in accordance to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Ability to use safety devices as prescribed by the organization. Provides patient education and treatment instruction, ensuring patients and families understand diagnoses, care plans, medications, symptom management, and follow-up requirements to promote safe and effective outcomes. Performs oncology triage, assessing patient symptoms and treatment-related side effects, prioritizing care needs, providing clinical guidance, and coordinating timely interventions in collaboration with the oncology care team. Coordinates referrals to outside medical facilities when necessary, facilitating continuity of care by arranging appointments, transferring medical records, and communicating with external providers to ensure appropriate follow-up and specialty services. Performs other duties as assigned. Actively contributes to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies. Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff. QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license). Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must successfully pass a background check. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable). Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
  • Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
  • Current, active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license.
  • Current, active Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
  • Current, active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
  • Current, active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
