About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: As an RN on our Cardio Thoracic Unit, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Cardio Thoracic Unit provides step-down care and provides opportunities for PCC (Progressive Critical Care) Certification Position: Registered Nurse Department: Med/Surg Schedule: 36 Hours (Days/Nights) ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Deliver nursing care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues Update and manage patient records Enter and interpret computerized data/ information Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC ’s nursing organization Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

Requirements

  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support ( ACLS) certification completed during orientation.
  • PCC Certification within 1 year of hire which is offered by the hospital.
  • 1+ years of RN experience preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic computer proficiency

  • Fluency in another language a plus
