About The Position

Registered nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients. Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System. This position is for Methodist Richardson Medical Center, a 443-bed, full-service, acute care hospital that serves Richardson, Garland, Plano, and surrounding areas in Dallas and Collin counties. The medical center is a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and the nation’s first hospital to receive The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval ® for Pancreatic/Hepatic/Biliary Cancer Certification. It also provides services at Methodist Richardson Medical Center – Campus for Continuing Care, which include a behavioral health and addiction recovery unit, inpatient rehabilitation, long-term acute care, and more. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so
• At least 1 year L&D RN experience

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for the nursing components of the patient/family/significant other educational process.
• Communicates to the team, co-workers, patients, and family members and evaluates understanding of informational manner.

• Ensures complete, accurate, and timely written communication of patient information.
• Provides a therapeutic environment through safe, accurate, and timely medication and IV administration.
• Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance and for professional growth and development.
• Utilizes the nursing process to ensure quality patient care is provided throughout the episode of care.
• Other duties as assigned.
