About The Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Unit: Joint and Spine Unit Employment Type: Full-time / 36 hours weekly Shift: Night Shift; 7pm-7am Location: Silver Spring, Maryland We are offering a $13,000 New Hire Retention Bonus to external applicants who meet minimum requirements. Position Purpose: The Joint Commission has deemed the Joint and Spine Center at Holy Cross hospital as a Center of Excellence since 2015. We have an opening for an engaged experienced Nurse who focuses on patient education and clinical outcomes. You would be a member of collaborative multi-disciplinary team of Surgeons, OT/PT and Case Managers who strive for excellence in care. As a Registered Nurse you will: Effectively communication with the patient, family and healthcare team Provide education to post-surgical Joint & Spine patients Interfaces regularly OT/PT/Case Management to enhance the patient experience and transition patients to home setting (admission/discharges/transfers) Ability to collaborate with patient in the proper management of pain

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). Note, if the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
  • Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Competency in electronic patient management systems.
  • At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting; rehab/surgical experience highly preferred.
