About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) - Same Day Services Part Time - 32 hrs. biweekly, Rotating Schedule- Days & Evenings Meritus Same Day Services RNs provide pre-op and post-op discharge care to an average of 40 patients per day. We care for patients coming for a wide variety of surgeries and procedures, including total joints, hysterectomies, pediatric dental, pain management, and more. Schedule: Monday - Friday rotating shifts between the hours of 5:30am - 9:30pm. In clinical settings, the registered professional nurse cares for patients using the nursing process, independent judgment, and evidenced based practice to assess and treat responses to actual or potential health problems. Maintains clinical competency and participates in continuing education related to health care issues and as outlined by appropriate regulatory and accrediting agencies. Adheres to ethical principles of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and the ANA code of ethics for nurses. Demonstrates ongoing competency in practice through participation in professional organizations and committees. Coordinates care with other disciplines; delegates tasks to other nursing staff; supervises staff in their delivery of care and evaluation of results. Reports breaches in clinical or ethical standards to supervisor.

Requirements

• Education - ASN required. BSN Preferred.
• Experience - Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting required.
• Licensure/Certification - Specialty certification recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program™ preferred.
• Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, or if resident of a state that participates in Nurse Multi-State Compact agreement, holds Registered Nurse License from that state that is designated as "Compact" or "Multi-State Privilege" using primary source verification and provides additional documentation as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• RN License from a compact state with a designation of "Single State" does not meet the requirement and nurse must obtain a Maryland license.
• Ability to apply the standards of professional nursing practice with compassion and empathy.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must pocess high level of organization and communication skills.
