At Saratoga Hospital, we've built a reputation for high-quality, compassionate care and a commitment to the health and well-being of our community. As part of the Albany Med Health System, we combine advanced technology with a deeply personal approach-creating a supportive environment for patients, staff, and providers alike. We believe that exceptional care starts with exceptional people. A3 (37 beds) and C3 (20 beds) work together to care for a medically complex patient population. Whether it's oncology or pulmonary patients, those with infections, or patients at end of life, you have the opportunity to develop a solid foundation, hone your skills, gain expertise in various aspects of patient care, and truly make a difference. Every day presents multiple learning opportunities as we work very closely with other nurses, physicians, and other disciplines to provide quality care to our patients and provide you with a tremendous learning path. For those interested, after gaining experience on the unit, becoming chemotherapy-certified becomes a potential career advancement option, further expanding one's skill set. Our staff on A3/C3 say it best! They speak of a true sense of teamwork and consider co-workers to be family. As a result, they take care of each other. Their philosophy is that working as a team fosters better patient and family interactions, creating an increased level of satisfaction for everyone. They also speak of the camaraderie between physicians and leadership, all contributing to a rewarding and gratifying unit. As a Nurse Resident, we want to do everything to set you up for success! You will be assigned to a Cohort and attend 6 months of monthly educational sessions with your cohort team members. This is led by our Nurse Residency Coordinator. The program is designed to ease your transition from a novice nurse to a competent nurse. Teaching methodologies include didactic learning, simulation and fun team activities applicable to nursing practice at Saratoga Hospital. This occurs while you are completing your 3-4 month unit orientation where you will be assigned a preceptor.
