About The Position

Coordinates patient care activity in the OBL and on the phone, providing necessary support to the surgeon within pre, intra and post operative phases of care. Patient care activities within scope of nursing practice will include but not limited to patient assessment, medication management, collaboration with healthcare providers, patient education, procedural management, surgical scrubbing and assistance with procedures, and a variety of medically related tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides compassionate and high-quality nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit. Initiates and implements patient care plan. Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees. Maintains evidence-based standards of patient care. Promotes a culture of patient safety when providing care. Identifies problems and guides personnel to their solution. Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of personnel. Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s Degree, or diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Current Maryland Licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure
  • Two to three years clinical experience in clinical setting
  • CPR and ACLS required

  • The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position.
  • Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
  • Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
