Requirements

Graduate from an accredited nursing program
Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State of Indiana
Current Healthcare BLS and ACLS certification (ACLS can be acquired within department guidelines)
Two (2) or more years recent experience on telemetry unit
Completed basic EKG class

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN)
Two (2) or more years recent experience with surgical critical care patients
Two (2) or more years with Med-Surg patients
Current CCRN Certification
Current IV Certification.

Responsibilities

Establishing a compassionate environment acknowledging and attending to physiological and psychological needs
Closely monitoring status of patient under his/her care
Observing patient, recording significant conditions and reactions, and notifying healthcare team as needed of patient’s condition
Educating patient on procedures and treatments to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension
Willingness and understanding that Med-Surg patients will be taken in the event there is no critical care patient
