Registered Nurse

Stillwater Medical CenterStillwater, OK

About The Position

Our Same Day Surgery unit moved into a beautiful new facility this year. We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a heart for our patients to join our team in this busy and rewarding area. A bonus of this area is its schedule, which allows the RN to work through the week and be off of the weekends and holidays. The Stillwater Preoperative Clinic (SPC) RN is a member of the Same Day Surgery department whose role is focused on assessing the patient and developing a plan of care designed to meet the pre-anesthesia physical, psychological, educational, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of the patient/family/significant other. The primary role is to gather information from the patient, other healthcare providers, and electronic medical records. Interviewing and assessment techniques are used to identify potential or actual problems that may occur. The pre-anesthesia nursing assessment identifies areas that the patient lacks optimization and works with physician's offices and anesthesia services to prepare the patient for surgery. The nurse works as a member of the health care team.
