About The Position

A large acute care hospital in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit . This assignment is ideal for nurses with strong cardiac monitoring skills who thrive in a fast-paced inpatient environment and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license (single-state; compact license not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry with cardiac monitoring
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Every other weekend required
• Availability to work every other holiday as needed
• All scheduling and RTO requests must be submitted at time of submission
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without penalty

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize/manage dysrhythmias
• Respond to emergency situations utilizing Rapid Response and Code protocols
• Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airways
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Maintain infection control, isolation precautions, and patient safety standards
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Float to other units within scope of practice as required
