About The Position

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Case Management Nurse utilizes a collaborative process of assessment, planning, facilitation, and advocacy for options and services to meet the Blue Cross Blue Shield patients’ health needs through communication and targeted intervention to promote optimal, cost-effective outcomes in a clinic setting. The function of this position is to assist Blue Cross Blue Shield patients in the administration of their health plan benefits. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Case Management Nurse focuses on arranging or coordination services that the patient needs to get well or stay well and removing barriers that prevent the member from engaging in an appropriate plan of care. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Case Management Nurse demonstrates the strengths working independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-specialty healthcare environment. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Case Management Nurse must be flexible and be willing to help in other areas of the clinic, if the need arises. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Case Management Nurse performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mission and Values of Hattiesburg Clinic.

Requirements

Graduation certificate from an accredited RN school of nursing, required
Current state licensure, required
IV certification
BLS/CPR certification
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations/timelines
Ability and desire to learn new technologies
Must be timely and dependable
Must be able to multi-task, work independently and be very detail oriented
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be able to complete documentation accurately
Must be able to follow existing workflows
Knowledge of EMR, medical management and policies and procedures
