About The Position

Requirements

• Formal education equivalent to a diploma, associate's, or bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
• At least one year of Public Health Nursing experience in a Local Health Unit setting preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record medical and family history of patients and current medication usage.
• Conduct physical examinations and monitor vital signs.
• Develop and update patient care plans to meet treatment goals.
• Review patient charts for physician orders and progress notes.
• Consult with physicians regarding problem cases and assist with case management.
• Respond to emergency situations and administer appropriate treatment.
• Counsel and instruct patients and families on proper care and medication use.
• Instruct groups on health issues such as preventive care and nutrition.
• Arrange for immunizations and health screenings.
• Collaborate with community leaders and health educators.
• May supervise daily activities of licensed practical nurses and nursing aides.
