About The Position

The Registered Nurse is a nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery and management of patient care within the scope of practice. This position functions as part of the Occupational Health (OH) clinic and receives guidance and technical supervision from the Occupational Health Nurse Specialists (OHNS). The RN participates in the provision of health care, screening examinations, health counseling, medical record maintenance and other related services within the OH clinic.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school preparing Registered Nurses with current licensure from the Louisiana State Board to practice professional nursing upon date of hire.
• Two years' experience working in a medical office or clinic environment.
• Current CPR or BLS Certification.
• Current, unencumbered Louisiana Registered Nursing license.
• Ability to pass respiratory physical to wear an N-95 and Powered air-purified respirator (PAPR).
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the job, including the ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Ability to complete and pass the required occupational health screening referenced in the University's Animal Handler Health Surveillance Program on an annual basis.
