The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center is designated as a Pathway to Excellence facility by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), which recognizes organizations that empower and give voices to nurses. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team and help serve our Veterans in our outpatient Specialty Care Clinics for Wound Care. The Registered Nurse - Wound Care is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care based on skin and wound etiology, as well as coordinating care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on skin and wound etiology.
  • Coordinates care by serving as an expert clinician and patient/resident advocate in wound management.
  • Provides specialized wound consultation and collaboration with providers, peers, and others in health care.
  • Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Monitors effectiveness of education provided and assures evidence-based current content of education.
  • Defines process for procuring wound therapies, products, and supplies for the clinical staff.
  • Responsible for the documented wound care outcomes at the program or service level.
  • Participates in the administration of education to all clinical staff to support the delivery of current, evidence-based care.
  • English Language Proficiency.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States.
  • Possession of a current - full - active - and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.
  • Credit for foreign nursing education higher than associate degree/entry level requires a formal degree equivalency validation.
  • Registered Nurse with inpatient and outpatient wound care experience.
  • Wound Care certification through WOCN.
