We are looking for a Full-time RN that will work a schedule of 4 ten-hour shifts. The VAT nurse will be responsible for a variety of responsibilities including: performing comprehensive vascular assessments, insert & manage peripheral IV’s/midlines/PICC lines using ultrasound guidance and aseptic technique, respond to VAT consults across ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, Maternal Child Health, and ED, monitor & trouble shoot vascular access devices for patency/infection/mechanical issues, educate patient & staff, maintain accurate documentation, adhere to infection control protocols & hospital policies, participate in quality improvement initiatives, serve as a resource & mentor to nursing staff regarding vascular access best practices, and collaborate with leadership to grow & enhance the hospital’s vascular access program. We require this position holder to have a current Vascular Access Certification (VA-BC) and prefer a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with a strong preference in vascular access experience. The VAT RN needs to be proficient in ultra-sound guided vascular access, have the ability to make strong clinical judgements, and have excellent communication skills. Requirements

  • Requires 1 year RN experience.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • We require this position holder to have a current Vascular Access Certification (VA-BC)
