About The Position

The Registered Nurse at UT Health RGV Primary Care - Space X is responsible for providing professional nursing skills and leadership in the coordination and administration of nursing processes. This role involves assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans for patients, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring high standards of patient care are maintained.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Two (2) years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Two (2) years or more supervisory experience as a licensed registered nurse in an ambulatory or outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standards of patient care as established by nursing service and the nursing profession.
• Demonstrate awareness of the total nursing needs of the patient and ensure they are met.
• Participate in professional nursing care of patients as required.
• Administer medications and/or treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Develop and monitor specific plans of action for emergency medical procedures.
• Perform treatment of emergency patients when applicable, refer emergency patients to proper physician, and assist physician with treatment as required.
• Supervise nursing staff on patient assessments.
• Supervise and delegate patient care through staff personnel.
• Develop and supervise procedures for patient scheduling, record keeping, and monitoring follow-up care of patients with serious medical problems.
• Initiate laboratory tests and collect various specimens and cultures.
• Develop and implement clinic protocols and/or policies and procedures.
• Perform related duties as required.
