About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a full-time RN Unit Coordinator for the Operating Room in Suffolk, VA, working 7a-7p. This role involves floating between the Obici and BelleHarbour locations and includes varying call requirements with flexible scheduling. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is available for qualified candidates. The Operating Room department at Sentara Obici Hospital, a recognized Primary Stroke Center and Magnet hospital, handles approximately 5,000 cases annually across seven operating rooms. The 40-person team, consisting of RNs, surgical assistants, surgical technologists, and OR techs, performs a diverse range of procedures including general, ortho, podiatry, vascular, GYN, spine, and plastics, utilizing advanced systems like DaVinci robotic technology. The team operates 5 main ORs and 1 minor procedure room and may assist in Obstetrics as needed. The Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice, provides clinical leadership, leads safety and quality initiatives, streamlines workflow, contributes to staff development, increases staff satisfaction, and promotes excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN)
  • Registered Nursing License
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • 18 months OR nursing experience

Nice To Haves

  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification
