About The Position

SSGA is one of the leading Gastroenterology practices in the area. Our practice consists of 13 physicians and 14 advanced practitioners including a state of the art Endoscopy Center. We will have three new physicians joining our practice this year. As our practice grows, we are recruiting for additional Registered Nurses to join our growing triage team. Each triage team is supported by an LPN that takes initial routine triage calls such as prescription refills and test result questions. This position is located at our main facility in Burnt Hills, NY. This is a full time Monday-Friday position.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
• Previous triage experience helpful
• Previous Medical Office Experience helpful
• Strong Computer and EMR skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA
• Careful clinical judgment, listening, critical thinking and assessment skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work as a team as well as individually
• Ability to multitask and prioritize

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming acute/chronic patient calls/portal messages for your team of physicians
• Provide assessment and recommendations as appropriate
• Forwards assessments to assigned physicians for calls that require physician guidance
• Obtains pre-certification for all prescriptions needing prior authorizations
• Works closely with providers, LPN's and other departments as needed
