The role involves collaborating with nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members to place patients in appropriate levels of care, coordinating as a liaison between physician requestors and specialty consultants, staying informed of patient changes and communicating their impact to admitting physicians, developing and maintaining relationships with referral sources and admission decision makers, and maintaining standards for documentation and communications for various purposes.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors in Nursing
  • 3+ years bedside nursing experience
  • 2+ years in Critical Care, ICU or Emergency Department (ED) experience, charge nurse or some type of leadership

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members to place patients in appropriate levels of care to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Coordinate as liaison between physician requestors for consultants and specialty consultants.
  • Stay informed of patient changes and communicate the impact to admitting physicians.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and admission decision makers.
  • Maintain standards for documentation and communications with physician/service referrals for legal, medical, statistical, and process improvement purposes.
