T3 is a 55-bed ortho/trauma/neuro telemetry unit serving patients with a variety of surgical and medical diagnoses which may require telemetry monitoring. The unit specializes in the care of patients 18 years and older suffering from neurological issues (strokes, MS exacerbation, seizures, long-term epilepsy monitoring), patients undergoing neurosurgical, orthopedic, and general surgeries (back, neck, and brain surgery), and trauma care (falls, motor vehicle accidents, and victims of violent crimes). Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
