About The Position

The position is for a Telemetry Nurse specializing in surgical cardiac telemetry, requiring a comprehensive understanding of various cardiac conditions and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of telemetry experience, with a strong emphasis on open-heart surgery and vascular management. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, monitoring patients with conditions such as myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and heart failure, as well as providing pre and post-operative care for open-heart surgery patients. Candidates must be proficient in using the EPIC documentation system and familiar with the Pyxis medication system, as these are critical components of the job. The Telemetry Nurse will be responsible for interpreting telemetry readings, managing dysrhythmias, and administering medications such as heparin and antiarrhythmics. The role also includes performing special procedures like blood product administration, chest tube care, and cardioversion. The nurse will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and will be expected to float to different units as needed. The staffing ratio is 1:4-5, indicating a manageable workload that allows for attentive patient care. Candidates must hold current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and NIH, and must have an active or in-process Washington state nursing license. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. The nurse will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients under their care.
