About The Position
One of SEMC’s Medical-Surgical Units, 6 West/Telemetry is a 32-bed unit providing care for intermediate level medical-surgical patients. The patient Position: Registered Nurse, Location: Med Surg Schedule: 6 West Telemetry, 36 Hour Night 12 Hour Shifts, Every 3rd Weekend and Holidays POSITION SUMMARY: As an RN in the Medical Surgical Unit, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Requirements
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required 90 days of hire
- PCC Certification required within 1 year of hire
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
- Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
