There’s never been a better or more exciting time to become a BMC Brighton nurse. B6 /Telemetry is a 32-bed unit providing care for intermediate level medical-surgical patients. The patient population consists of a wide range of general medical diagnoses and conditions with a specialty in Cardiology. Position: Registered Nurse Department: Med Surg Schedule: 36 hours Nights, every 3rd weekend

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • 1+ years of RN experience preferred
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required 90 days of hire
  • PCC Certification required within 1 year of hire
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic computer proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients demonstrate culture competence and professional integrity in the pursuit of optimal patient care
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
