Registered Nurse, Telemetry, 36 Hours (Day/Night / Every 3rd Weekend)
About The Position
POSITION SUMMARY: Boston Medical Center Brighton B6 /Telemetry unit is a 3 2 -bed unit providing care for intermediate level medical-surgical patients. The patient population consists of a wide range of general medical diagnoses and conditions with a specialty of Cardiology . Prospective candidates for this unit must demonstrate culture competence and professional integrity in the pursuit of optimal patient care and enjoy the variety of clinical experiences that the specialty of Medical Surgical Nursing provides. Requirements
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life support ( ACLS) certification 90 days of hire
- PCC Certification required within 1 year of hire
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
- Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
