About The Position

The Registered Nurse - Telemetry position involves caring for patients across various age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 in telemetry and 1:5 in med/surg. Common diagnoses include pancreatitis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, cholelithiasis, appendicitis, altered mental status, A-Fib with RVR, hip fractures, chest pain, and stroke. Special procedures performed on the unit include teleneurology, Buck's traction, and small bedside irrigation and debridements of wounds. The role requires great teamwork and involves the use of common equipment such as blood glucometers, Buck's traction, and lift equipment. Nurses will also titrate vasoactive drips including Amarodione and Cardizem.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry nursing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Cerner electronic health record system.
