Surgical Trauma Critical Care (STCC) is a 20-bed unit for patients with multiple types of surgeries, injuries, and conditions. The nurses on this units treat patients with various trauma conditions or surgical interventions. This creates a population which requires a broad knowledge base of critical care, trauma, and overall management of multi-system challenges. This unit collaborates with a strong interdisciplinary team of physicians, clinical pharmacists, and dieticians. Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Minimum of one year of RN experience
