About The Position

Join us at UPMC Presbyterian as we provide Life Changing Medicine to our community! UPMC Presbyterian, a Magnet designated hospital, is currently hiring Full-Time Registered Nurses to support our Surgical/Transplant Units. The Transplant & Inpatient Surgery Division consists of several departments all with a unique surgically based focus. Each unit is staffed by nurses who are specialists in their respective fields and provide compassionate care and clinical excellence.

Requirements

• Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Graduate Nurses must be eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before beginning this role.
• No experience required; BSN preferred.
• CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS required within 12 months of beginning employment.
• UPMC approved national certification preferred.
• Act 34 Criminal Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to care for and interact with patients.
• Apply knowledge of growth and development principles to assess and interpret patient data, identifying age-specific needs.
• Establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, support staff, and patients/families.
• Work effectively in a complex environment, managing multiple and changing priorities with specialized equipment.
• Utilize strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills in all aspects of patient care.
