The position is located at Methodist Hospital in the 33-bed Surgical Short Stay Unit (5S). This unit fosters teamwork, collaboration, and a supportive culture, making it suitable for both new graduates and experienced RNs to build and enhance surgical nursing skills. The unit cares for surgical observation patients with an estimated length of stay under 72 hours, covering a wide range of procedures including vertebroplasty, minimally invasive rotator cuff repairs, hysterectomy, mastectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, appendectomy, TURPs, prostatectomy, lymph node biopsy, pacemaker insertions, negative heart caths, Watchman procedures, and minimally invasive head and neck procedures. The role offers self-scheduling with every 4th weekend and rotating holidays to promote flexibility and work-life balance.
