Provides direct patient care mainly in the Outpatient surgery unit and will also cross train to the PACU using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. The Outpatient Surgery Unit takes care of all outpatients that are having surgery. The registered nurse will be responsible to take PACU call on average 4-5 days a month and some weekend call (approximately every 8th weekend). Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program
  • BCLS required

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS and PALS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Registered Nurse gets the patient ready for surgery, provides care after surgery and discharges them home.
