This unit is part of our new and advanced Virtual Connected Care™ Together Team nursing model that integrates experienced telemedicine RN ‘s into care assignments, thus helping with the workload. The Registered Nurse Supervisor is a dynamic leadership role that contributes to the operational management of the unit to promote and support an environment of excellent patient care. An individual in this role ensures compliance with all healthcare standards and requirements established by various licensing, regulatory, and accreditation bodies. An RN Supervisor maintains a working knowledge of policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior. An RN Supervisor provides unit-based leadership while engaging staff and promoting evidenced based practice that supports and leads unit and/or organizational changes. An RN Supervisor helps to identify problems, offers solutions, and participates in their resolution. A candidate for this role should be comfortable providing patient care, managing staff, making decisions independently, and assuming managerial duties as necessary. Unit D5 is a cardiovascular step-down unit caring for patients admitted for interventional cardiac procedures, medical cardiology, vascular surgery and the designated stroke unit. We serve patients with a variety of acute medical, cardiac, vascular and respiratory conditions. We monitor class I telemetry and manage cardiac drips. Specialized training includes CORE EKG classes and stroke certification.
