To provide health care services to students and staff.
Requirements
Knowledge of federal and state rules, policies and requirements related to student health.
Knowledge of nursing policies and practices.
Knowledge of community health resources and programs
Knowledge of guidelines of confidentiality per HIPAA, FERPA.
Skill in performing nursing assessments.
Skill in monitoring health conditions of students.
Skill in making appropriate referrals.
Skill in operating office equipment, computer applications.
Skill in communicating orally and in writing.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
Active Arizona Registered Nurse License in good standing
Current CPR Certification
State of Arizona Board Certified Registered Nursing License.
Hearing Testing Certification as class space is available.

Responsibilities
Provides case management activities; developing and implementing plan of care for students with chronic diseases who require specialized nursing care and monitoring while at school.
Directs health care of students and staff who are injured, need first aid, suffering from chronic illnesses or require supervision of their medication(s) while at school.
Provides nursing physical examination, assessment, and evaluation of students including vision and hearing screening, weight management, scoliosis screening, blood pressure screening, and screenings for communicable diseases.
Refers students and parents to appropriate healthcare resources within the community.
Collaborates with the building principal and teachers making recommendations for implementation of health services for individual students.
Maintains immunization records, implementing policy on exclusion and readmission with the guidance and support of the building principal.
Assists in developing school health programs including home visits, parent education classes, and classroom teaching of dental and hygiene programs.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and the Principal that is in the Nurse Practice Act scope of practice.
