About The Position

The registered nurse staffing coordinator/scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring that appropriate nursing staff is available to meet patient care needs across various departments. This position is responsible for developing, managing, and adjusting nursing staff schedules, maintaining accurate staffing records, and collaborating with nursing leadership to address staffing challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the flexibility to respond to staffing demands in real-time. Accurately and efficiently schedule nurses, CPCAs and unit secretaries for all nursing units. Review and track bi-weekly payroll hours. Track attendance and time-off requests. Work closely with clinical directors to plan for and meet clinical staffing and operation needs. Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences. Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred; previous experience in staffing coordination or scheduling preferred.
  • Must possess demonstrated abilities to prioritize and complete assignments while managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision and efficient follow-up.
  • Must be proactive, efficient, customer-focused and work under pressure of requisite timelines.
  • Must exercise independent judgment and interact effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to listen effectively to others.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
  • Must display a team-oriented approach in support of diverse business units.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail, accuracy of work and quality of work product.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical or related industry experience preferred.
