This role applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. It involves effectively communicating pertinent patient/family information to the health care team, collaborating in establishing patient goals, and evaluating progress to ensure effective outcomes. The Registered Nurse will also further professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. The Vanderbilt Spine Center provides innovative non-surgical and surgical treatments for back and neck pain, sciatica and other spine conditions. Our team has been recognized for high quality spine surgery care and outstanding patient experience.

Requirements

  • LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • Care Planning (Novice): Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility; competently handles multiple assignments, adapts to changes, and follows up to assure problems are resolved.
  • Nursing Patient Education (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency in providing patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to assess and evaluate patients, conduct primary care patient interviews and physical examinations, recognize problems, ask questions, contact the patient's primary care provider and other members of the healthcare team, and gather pertinent clinical data.
  • Evidence-Based Practice (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully search for evidence to answer clinical questions, generally working under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Apply the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
  • Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
  • Collaborate in establishing patient goals and continually evaluate progress, applying appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Further professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to Board of Nursing standards.
  • Coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyze comprehensive patient information pertinent to care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Employ strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
