About The Position

CVP is seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) to join our team providing care for our Nation's Veterans at the VA Saginaw Healthcare System. We have full-time, part-time and PRN contract opportunities available. Responsibilities Provide specialized nursing care to patients with spinal cord injuries Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans focused on rehabilitation goals and outcomes Administer medications, perform wound care, and manage complex medical needs specific to SCI patients Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams including physical, occupational, and speech therapists Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on rehabilitation goals and outcomes Provide patient and family education on self-care techniques, adaptive equipment usage, and transition planning for home Support patients through emotional and physical adjustment to injury or disability Implement bowel and bladder management programs specific to SCI patients Prevent and manage complications common in SCI patients such as pressure injuries, respiratory issues, autonomic dysreflexia, and spasticity Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records Participate in team meetings and care conferences to coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation plans Advocate for patients' needs within the healthcare system Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices in SCI and rehabilitation nursing Qualifications Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any US state, territory, or the District of Columbia Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Current BLS certification Current ACLS certification Experience in SCI nursing Knowledge of complications specific to SCI patients and appropriate nursing interventions Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency with electronic medical records Ability to successfully undergo a Government sponsored background investigation (US Citizenship required) Location VA Saginaw Healthcare System, 1500 Weiss Street, Saginaw, MI About CVP CVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients. Requirements

  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any US state, territory, or the District of Columbia
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Experience in SCI nursing
  • Knowledge of complications specific to SCI patients and appropriate nursing interventions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records
  • Ability to successfully undergo a Government sponsored background investigation (US Citizenship required)
