About The Position

The Registered Nurse at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network plays a crucial role in promoting and restoring patients' health through comprehensive nursing care. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Registered Nurse license required.
  • Basic Life Support / CPR certification required.
  • ACLS certification required; must obtain within eighteen months of employment.
  • Previous acute care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long-term acute care settings.
  • Certification in additional nursing specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process.
  • Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Provides physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Supervises assigned team members.
  • Assesses patient condition on admission and at regular intervals during assigned shift.
  • Coordinates, prioritizes, and integrates patient information from all aspects of clinical care.
  • Delegates basic patient care needs to assistive personnel.
  • Sets goals to organize assignment and collaborates with patients and their families on desired goals.
  • Acts on physician's orders in a timely manner and develops independent nursing interventions.
  • Documents interventions and their resultant responses, auditing aggregate performance to improve patient care systems.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
  • Promotes patient's independence by teaching self-care skills and answering questions.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and making necessary adjustments.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with safety and infection control procedures.
  • Respects patients and the organization by recognizing patient rights and keeping information confidential.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
  • Demonstrates financial accountability by managing inventory and supplies effectively.
  • Contributes to organizational team effort by communicating information and participating in performance improvement projects.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by responding to co-workers' requests for assistance.
