About The Position

The Mobile/Specialty Care Transport RN provides 911 Advanced Life Support as well as Basic Life Support in the emergency setting to the community and surrounding areas under the direction of a Medical Command Physician. The RN has accountability for the Advanced Life Support needs of the patient during inter facility transport, including, but not limited to assessment, medical management and medication administration in accordance with written protocols and verbal orders. The RN is responsible for ensuring the emergency vehicle, equipment and inventory is sufficiently stocked, clean and in proper working order at the beginning of each shift. This position supports the organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork, education and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Graduate of NLN approved School of Nursing required.
  • Current license to practice nursing in New Jersey.
  • Current MICN OR RN/PARAMEDIC required.
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS/PEPP, PHTLS/ITLS/ATCN, ICS 100, 700, and valid Driver's License required upon hire or transfer.
  • New hires may begin employment and are required to complete the necessary requirements through AtlantiCare in order to gain MICN endorsement within 6 months of hire or transfer.
  • CEN/CCRN required or obtained within 1 year of hire or transfer.
  • Successful completion of Difficult Airway Course.
  • Minimum of 1 full year of critical care experience in Emergency Department, Critical Care or Intensive Care Unit of an acute care hospital required.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately, then skills will be required for this position within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Science in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the emergency vehicle, equipment and inventory is sufficiently stocked, clean and in proper working order at the beginning of each shift.
  • Providing quality and assurance on SCT charts during shift to maintain high quality care standards as identified by the Medical Director and Leadership Team.
  • Maintaining clinical competencies and standards of care regarding standing protocols, successful and appropriate use of all equipment as required by the Medical Director.
  • Required attendance Critical Care Clinical rotations as assigned, including but not limited to: Operating Room, Cardiovascular ICU, NICU/OB/Maternity, Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU and Pediatrics, totaling 24 hours per year.
  • Successful Completion of yearly Medical Command requirements and competencies.
