Our Values Respect | Belonging | Accountability | Transparency Department Invasive Cardiology Job Summary Under general supervision, the Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES-Certified) Invasive Cardiology Registered Nurse is a specialized electrophysiology critical care nurse responsible for all aspects of safe patient care delivery for patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology (EP) procedures in Invasive Cardiology Labs. In addition to assisting physicians with invasive cardiology procedures, this position oversees the technical operations required for the performance of routine diagnostics and interventional electrophysiology procedures. This position provides direct patient nursing care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of Denver Health. Requires competent in the use of EP monitoring/stimulation systems, intra-cardiac echocardiography, and 3D mapping systems. Requires a high degree of understanding of the interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias in all Invasive Cardiology and EP procedures. Requires operation and troubleshooting of EP specialty equipment and x-ray systems within scope of practice and applicable registration and/or licensure. This certified specialist nurse possesses expert clinical and technical knowledge which they apply to collect and assess data, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, to provide therapeutic care for the patient and family systematically and continuously. This position participates in the overnight and weekend Invasive Cardiology call-pool as part of an emergency response team. Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing Administration Scope and Standards of Practice (2025) to provide leadership with the nursing process.
