About The Position

Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights: Special Care Nursery is a level 2E unit with 10 patient rooms Location: Elmhurst, IL Full Time 36 hours Hours: Nights 7 pm to 7 am including rotating weekends and rotating holidays Transition program classroom hours are day shift & precepted shifts may be on day and night shift Required Travel: Yes, first 16 weeks of transition program may be at multiple locations (Elmhurst & Naperville) Start Date: May 5, 2026 What you will do: Endeavor Elmhurst Hospital is delighted to offer a new Special Care Nursery Nurse Transition Program. Our nursery is a 2E unit with 10 patient rooms. This program is for experienced nurses who have a desire to transition into special care nursery Nursing. During this program, candidates will train with a nurse preceptor for 16 weeks and will have dedicated education time.

Requirements

Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
Current CPR through American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six months of start date into position
Certificate of Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) within one year of start date into position
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months of start date into position
2 years of Labor and delivery experience preferred
