About The Position

Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN is looking for exceptional, patient focused Registered Nurses to join our Surgical/Trauma ICU team and make a difference for our patients and our community. We are known for saving lives in our Level I Trauma Center, and our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient. As a nursing professional you will be empowered to manage your clinical practice and working environment through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence-based nursing practice. At Regions, we support nurses with an individualized orientation including Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program which is a nurse residency structured program to support learning, role transition, and retention of nurses. All new hire registered nurses at Regions Hospital will be automatically enrolled. The Surgical/Trauma ICU is an 18-bed unit that has a patient population that comprises of adolescent, adult, and geriatric trauma, general surgical, orthopedic neurosurgical and neurocritical care patients requiring highly skilled care and close monitoring. As a Registered Nurse in the SICU, you will be responsible for performing patient centered, safe, effective, equitable, timely and efficient patient care based on the specific needs of the patient populations served, communicating effectively with patients, families, and the Care Team, participating as an effective unit and nursing department member and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other health care team members across the organization.

Requirements

  • MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF CRITICAL CARE ICU EXPERIENCE (not open to New Grad RNs)
  • Degree in Nursing
  • Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
  • CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers

Nice To Haves

  • BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire
  • One year of acute care RN experience is strongly preferred
  • ICU RN experience is strongly preferred
