About The Position
Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our PACU/Same Day Surgery unit. This role is ideal for a compassionate and detail-oriented nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The RN will provide high-quality post-anesthesia and perioperative care, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal recovery following surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of Illinois (or eligibility for licensure).
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS preferred).
- Previous experience in PACU, Same Day Surgery, or Critical Care strongly preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery or procedures.
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and overall recovery progress, intervening as needed.
- Administer medications and IV fluids per physician orders.
- Educate patients and families on postoperative care and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and interventions.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
