About The Position

The RNFA position involves evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting surgical nursing care for perioperative patients. The role requires performing as a staff RN as well as a First Assistant when needed, and includes performing surgical procedures under the supervision of a surgeon. The RNFA will function in both scrub and circulating nurse roles and will perform a variety of duties to assist the surgeon during procedures.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Two years of experience in Surgical Services.
• Completed Fist Assist curriculum.
• BLS certification.
• Current Alabama RN license or Current Multi State RN License in accordance with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama.
• CNOR required within 90 days of promotion or hire into position.
