Shrub Oak International School (www.shruboak.org) is a therapeutic day and residential school for autistic children, adolescents, and young adults with complex co-occurring conditions. Located in northern Westchester County, Shrub Oak offers unparalleled educational opportunities for autistic students in a family-centric, supportive environment. We offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of students across the spectrum, and our curriculum is based on the most advanced and successful evidence-based clinical and academic approaches in ASD education. Essential Functions: Reporting to the Director of Health and Wellness, the RN is a year-round position, serving as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. The RN employs an evidence-based, student-centric approach to providing high-quality, direct and indirect nursing, medical and overall proactive wellness care to our students. The RN works collaboratively with other staff within the school to provide front line support for the daily operations related to student health and wellbeing both on and off campus, guiding and mentoring students, assisting with emergency response procedures, and collaborating with all members of the Shrub Oak staff. The RN builds trusting relationships with students, families, the community and other medical service providers, while representing Shrub Oak International School in a respectful and competent manner.
