About The Position

Astrana Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our ambulatory surgical center, Advanced Diagnostic & Surgical Center, located in Alhambra, CA. The RN Pre-Op/PACU/GI plays a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process, clinical best practices, and organizational standards. This role is responsible for providing safe and effective care across all perioperative phases and patient populations, while upholding the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Requirements

  • Active, current, and unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
  • Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
  • AHA Basic Life Support
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and composure in a constantly changing environment
  • 1 or more years of operating room experience as Registered Nurse or completion of approved Perioperative Services training program

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Cantonese and/or Mandarin preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate, and deliver patient care that meets the identified needs of patients having operative procedures.
  • May act as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge and application of aseptic techniques, and defines practice standards for operating room and infection prevention.
  • Provides patient care, reviews and administers patient medications, including intravenous titrations, invasive and arterial lines, cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, treatments and procedures in a safe, effective and age appropriate manner that meets scope of practice and standards of nursing practice.
  • Recognizes change in patient's clinical conditions, taking appropriate action and documenting intervention.
  • Appropriately responds and manages life threatening and emergent situations in the perioperative setting.
  • Effectively collaborates with the health care team to intervene, and advocate as necessary.
  • Intervenes appropriately in instances of abuse, assault or neglect, or when adequate financial or social resources are not available.
  • Makes appropriate referrals to resolve patient issues effectively.
