Registered Nurse (RN) - South Providence Urgent Care

MU Health Care is seeking a compassionate RN to join our Urgent Care team. In this role, you'll provide essential nursing services in a 7-day, 12-hour shift environment. Requirements
- Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of nursing experience in acute care, urgent care, or emergency room setting.
- Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Responsibilities
- Initial assessment and triage of patients who present to Mizzou Urgent Care.
- Monitor physiological conditions of patients and give timely notification to physician regarding changes in patient status.
- Prepare patients and equipment/supplies for procedures.
- Provide nursing care to patients according to departmental and critical care nursing standards.
- Assists physician during procedures.
- Administer intravenous and oral medications to patients. Initiates intravenous therapy as indicated, utilizing aseptic technique with appropriate IV catheter and fluid. Ensures that medication is labeled appropriately.
- Advocate for the patient at all stages of the care continuum.
- Educate patients and families about the patient’s illness, their care, and treatment plan.
- Participate in life-saving measures and aid in transfer of patients via EMS.
- May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
