About The Position

Bartlett Regional Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services Team in our Same Day Care department. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, plus 30 days of housing. Contact Human Resources at 907-796-8418 for details. RN 1: This position provides basic nursing care in predictable situations to a limited numbers of patients under direct supervision. RN 1's are typically new graduates or returning to the professional after a prolonged absence. Performance is guided by rules and competencies to be met. RN 1's are able to recognize attributes (i.e., isolated traits, objective measures, or tasks) of a clinical situation without situational experience. With oversight and/or guidance, the RN 1's render individualized nursing care to meet the patient's physical, psychological, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care. Care to each patient is based upon the nursing process and in accordance with the hospital's policy and procedure and CARE values. RN 1's participate in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate. RN 2: RN 2's independently plan and implement routine nursing care in using standards and knowledge obtained during education and preceptorship. RN 2's begin to assume leadership responsibility and needs minimal supervision. An RN 2 has the ability to use accurate, clear, and concise oral and written communication. RN 2's will work as a team and maintain effective working relationships, use critical thinking skills, analyze, and communicate findings effectively. Incumbents require a basic computer literacy and the ability to effectively learn new software programs is required, as well as the ability to efficiently operate a variety of automated office equipment such as print/copy/scan/fax machines/calculators/etc. RN 3: A Registered Nurse (RN) 3 is an advanced level who is assigned at least one float area and renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patients physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural, and educational needs. RN 3 provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. The RN 3 functions under the oversight and direction of the Nursing Supervisor. Independently plans and implements routine nursing care in assigned department. Needs minimal supervision. Rapid Response Team and Code Team responder. Float pool Staff may cover ED, CCU, Med/Surg, MHU, OB and RRC.

Requirements

  • Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license (RN1, RN2, RN3)
  • New graduate RNs or RNs with less than one (1) year current acute care or comparable experience, or RN with no nursing experience in the past five (5) years (RN1)
  • Advancement from an RN I or at least one (1) year, continuous experience in a comparable patient care setting (RN2)
  • Three (3) years of current clinical experience (RN3)
  • One (1) year of experience as a Bartlett RN II (RN3)
  • New employees are required to obtain a float area within 6 months (RN3)
  • Proficient clinical competency in primary specialty and a minimum of experience in one (1) float area required when promoting (RN3)
  • All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the state of Alaska prior to start of employment
